Australia India Skills Conference - Partners for ProsperityWed 11th July 2012

The 2012 Australia India Skills Conference was held in Perth, Western Australia on 10-11 July 2012. The Conference aimed to foster innovation and collaboration in skills development between Australia and India by bringing together key players in the skills sectors of both countries. The Conference helped prepare both Australian and Indian delegates to deliver future prosperity and meet the various skills challenges both countries face moving into the 21st Century.

The Conference presented an exciting opportunity for leaders from both countries to work together to:

Develop innovative skill development collaborations
Share best practice models
Expand awareness of both countries' skills sectors, labour markets and policy environments.

Participants included vocational education and training institute leaders from India and Australia, industry skills councils, peak bodies, senior industry representatives, government officials and policy makers from both countries. The Australia India Skills Conference was an initiative of the Australia India Education Council, a bilateral advisory body chaired by the Australian Government Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Science and Research and the Indian Government Minister for Human Resource Development.
