New Colombo Plan
The Australian Government has launched a signature initiative to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region. Australia’s Prime Minister, Hon Tony Abbott MP launched the NCP in India, during his visit here on 4-5 September.
From 2015, the NCP will support Australian undergraduate students to participate in semester-based or short-term study in India, including internships. This will lift knowledge of India in Australia and strengthen our people-to-people and institutional relationships. Further information about the New Colombo Plan can be found here.
Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships
The Australian Government also has an internationally competitive, merit based scholarship programme which provides opportunities for non-Australians to undertake study, research or professional development in Australia and for Australians to do the same overseas. Visit Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships for more information.
All eligible Endeavour Research Fellowship applicants proposing to travel to/from India or Australia as part of their research proposal will automatically be considered for an Endeavour Australia India Education Council (AIEC) Research Fellowship.
Other Government student mobility programs
The Australian Government also provides support for Australian students to study globally. Funding is provided to students through universities, other higher education providers and registered training organisations to undertake mobility experiences including internships, work placements, short-term study or research trips and volunteer projects. Information can be found here.
Information on general aspects of all study in Australia, including scholarships offered by individual institutions can be found here.
