The Australia-India Education Ambassador, Adam Gilchrist’s visit to India in June 2017, reinforced the priority the Australian Government places on strengthening the education relationship with India.
The visit built on the recent Ministerial visit of Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull and, Minister for Education and Training, Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham in April 2017. During his visit, Mr Gilchrist promoted the benefits of an international student experience in Australia and the benefits of greater collaboration.
Looking forward to the careers of the future, Mr Gilchrist emphasised the importance of growing collaboration in the schools, skills and higher education sectors. Promoting a shared approach in identifying new opportunities to partner together to meet the needs of future employers and industry.
Mr Gilchrist also highlighted Australia’s world class educational institutions and their committed to providing Indian students a high quality, safe study environment. Meeting with the Australian Indian alumni he recognised the significant contribution they make to India’s economic growth.
Australia seeks new ways of partnering with India, and sees significant potential and benefit for both countries to further deepen the existing education relationship.
