Alumni Ambassadors appointed for Australian ScholarshipsFri 3rd March 2017
Building on the success of the initiative launched in 2014, the Australian Government recently selected the 2017 alumni Ambassadors from India and South Asia to support the Australia’s scholarship program.
At an event in New Delhi on 3 March, the Australian High Commissioner to India, Her Excellency Ms Harinder Sidhu, appointed eighteen high profile Australia Awards- Endeavour Alumni Ambassadors from India and South Asia for 2017.
The appointment followed a workshop focussing on their role and how ambassadors could build awareness & share personal experiences amongst the best and brightest to consider these scholarships.
Each year a cadre of new Australia Awards-Endeavour Alumni Ambassadors are appointed, and since the initiative began in 2014 the pool of Alumni Ambassadors from India and South Asia (including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bhutan) has reached 83.
The Ambassadors are appointed to promote the Australia Awards-Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships programs in India and South Asia. Each year, the Australian Government awards scholarships to high-achieving students, researchers and professionals from around the world to study in Australia’s world-class education institutions or undertake a professional development program.
Ambassadors will visit leading research and higher education institutions to discuss their experiences of studying in Australia with students, faculty and administrators in their respective countries. The program recognises the invaluable contribution of these alumni and capitalised on their knowledge and experience in promoting these prestigious scholarships to other potential applicants.

Applications for the 2018 Round
Applications for the 2018 round of the Australia Awards/Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are expected to open in April 2017.
