Endeavour Mobility Grants 2017 RoundThu 5th May 2016

The Australian Government encourages Australian students to immerse themselves in the academic and social cultures of other countries and provides opportunities for overseas students to study in and experience Australia. The Government also seeks to support Australian higher education providers in further developing and diversifying their linkages with partner institutions overseas.

Administered by the Department of Education and Training, Endeavour Mobility Grants supports engagement between Australia and the rest of the world through student mobility. Funding is provided to Australian tertiary education providers, which in turn provide grants to Australian students to undertake mobility projects globally. See below for information on how education providers can apply for the grants:

The objectives of Endeavour Mobility Grants are to:

support students to study overseas as part of their qualification, where the study is for academic credit or is otherwise a mandatory component of the student’s course
create opportunities for students to engage globally with other students, institutions and employers
Strengthen institutional capacity to collaborate and partner with overseas education providers.

The following programmes are open for Asia including India -

Endeavour Cheung Kong Student Exchange Programme (ECKSEP)

Jointly funded by the Australian Government and Cheung Kong, represented in Australia by Powercor Australia. This unique and successful public/private partnership has involved the Government and Cheung Kong contributing matched funding to support undergraduate student exchange between Australia and India for over 10 years.
Grants for 250 undergraduate students (outgoing and incoming) to undertake semester exchange toIndia.
Grants of $5000 per student are available
Study must be for academic credit and equivalent to at least one full study period asrecognised by the Australian higher education provider, up to 12 months in duration.
Requires a partnership agreement to support tuition fee waiver and credit transfer.

Asia Postgraduate Programme (Asia Postgrad)

Grants for postgraduate students to undertake short-term or semester study in Asia.(including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka)
Short-term grants of $2000 per student, semester grants of $5000 per student and language support grants of $1000 per student are available.
Short-term study must be for academic credit or otherwise a mandatory component of the student’s course and less than six months in duration.
Semester study must be for academic credit and equivalent to at least one full study period as recognised by the Australian higher education provider, up to 12 months in duration.

Asia Vocational Education and Training Programme (Asia VET)

Grants for VET students to undertake short-term study in Asia ((including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka)
Short-term grants of $2000 per student and language support grants of $1000 per student are available
Study must be for academic credit or otherwise a mandatory component of the student’s course and less than six months in duration.
