Official Launch of the Endeavour and Australia Awards Ambassador programFri 11th March 2016
At the official launch of the Australia Awards/Endeavour Ambassador event, on 11 March, H.E. Harinder Sidhu, Australian High Commissioner to India, congratulated the appointed Alumni Ambassadors highlighting their role as leaders, not only as Ambassadors in their communities.The awards were presented at a Gala Dinner to celebrate the Australia-India education relationship.
Each year a cadre of new Australia Awards/Endeavour Alumni Ambassadors are appointed, and since the initiative began in 2014 the pool of Alumni Ambassadors has been growing. In 2014, 24 Alumni Ambassadors were selected, followed by 23 in 2015, and in 2016, 18 high profile Alumni from India and South Asia (including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bhutan) have been appointed as Alumni Ambassadors.
The Australia Awards/Endeavour Alumni Ambassadors will be visiting leading research and higher education institutions to discuss their experiences with top Indian students, faculty and administrators.
Newly appointed Alumni Ambassadors expressed their gratitude to be appointed as an Australia Awards Alumni and emphasised the importance of making the most of opportunities being offered by the Australian Government.
The Australia Awards/ Endeavour Scholarships are awarded by the Australian Government to high-achieving students, researchers and professionals from around the world each year to study in Australia’s world-class education institutions or undertake a professional development program. Australian Government Scholarships
